When Everything Goes Down the Drain #mental health

Sometimes life has to fall apart so we can rise differently. Life is like this, have you noticed? When everything is calm for too long, suddenly a wind blows in a different direction, the clouds shift in the sky to remind you that the universe is dynamic, and then a big challenge appears. Whether it’s being fired, a breakup, an unexpected pregnancy, a fight in traffic or with a neighbor, a roof coming loose from the house, or an illness in the family. I truly believe life is a constant back-and-forth, nothing ever stops. The waves don’t stop, our breathing doesn’t stop, and since the Creator is One and perfect, challenges appear to shape us. Just as a blacksmith must hammer the iron to give it form, just as a diamond suffers through its polishing, life presents us with the “blows” of destiny that form us as they happen.   It’s interesting to observe how our professional life unfolds over the years. At around eighteen, we’re expected to choose a college major — our future, supposedly defined by a single mark on a form. Have you ever imagined what it would be like if there were no end to a year on the calendar? Closing cycles is very important because it gives us a small pause — one that invites us to reflect on whether everything we have been doing so far truly feels right. Are we moving in the direction we believe in and desire? Are we surrounded by the right people? Do our relationships bring us good energy and joy? Does our work make sense? Of course, stopping to reflect is essential. Amid fireworks, rush, and end-of-year expenses, it is important to seek silence in order to reorganize our ideas and thoughts. In the middle of noise, there are no questions — and certainly no answers. I once heard a saying that if we get into a taxi but do not tell the driver where we want to go, either the car will stay still, or it will drive around aimlessly without ever reaching a destination. Life wor...
