New Year, New Life? How Reflecting on Life Cycles Can Bring Meaning and Clarity
The new year always brings me many reflections.
First, I am grateful that this ritual of closing cycles exists. Have you ever imagined what it would be like if there were no end to a year on the calendar?
Closing cycles is very important because it gives us a small pause — one that invites us to reflect on whether everything we have been doing so far truly feels right. Are we moving in the direction we believe in and desire? Are we surrounded by the right people? Do our relationships bring us good energy and joy? Does our work make sense?
Of course, stopping to reflect is essential. Amid fireworks, rush, and end-of-year expenses, it is important to seek silence in order to reorganize our ideas and thoughts.
In the middle of noise, there are no questions — and certainly no answers.
I once heard a saying that if we get into a taxi but do not tell the driver where we want to go, either the car will stay still, or it will drive around aimlessly without ever reaching a destination.
Life works in much the same way. It is essential to know where we want to go, what our goals are, what mistakes we have made, and what brings us joy or sadness. By doing this kind of “balance,” we become capable of creating general plans and, later, practical ones — so we can reach what we truly desire.
For me, this process feels natural. For more than 20 years, I have set goals, reflected, and thought about how to achieve what I long for. I also think about what saddens me, what brings me a sense of self-depreciation, and I try to eliminate everything that harms me — whether environments, people, or even social media that drains my time and energy.
Today, I understand the power and importance of being clear with the Universe about who we are and what we seek. Surrender is something truly beautiful and impressive.
Usually, after a year has passed, I check my wish list, and I realize that I have achieved almost everything I planned. Try it yourself.
I wish you many moments of introspection and powerful reflections — moments that bring you light to solve your problems and energy to pursue what warms your heart.
Seek meaning in life. Remember a time when you were truly happy, regardless of other people or material possessions. In that moment, you will understand your essence, and it will become easier to seek what truly makes you happy.
Happy new cycle.
